Coding --
Once the look
and feel is finalized, we start breaking
it down into information that web browsers
can understand. This step is where large
images are sliced into small optimized
ones, HTML code is used to format the
pages, and links are added. Our programmers
will also add or begin to create any scripting
you might need for things like interactive
searches, shopping carts, or databases.
Most content will be
added at this point. Content is any information
you want to convey with your web page,
whether it be photos of the products you
offer, a company description & history,
contact information, or an inventory database.
The key factors here
are universal translation and small file
size. By universal, we mean that it will
appear correctly for all users, whether
using a Mac or PC, Internet Explorer or
Netscape Navigator, a 21" monitor
or a 15". Small file size will ensure
that your website downloads to a user
quickly, whether they are in the local
area or on the other side of the country.
In both cases, we design for the lowest
common denominator rather than for the
newest high-end systems.
Which leads us to our
next step . . .
